• technical support of equipment of the Centre.
Order of the IMC Director of NAS of Ukraine head of the Communist Party “Research Station to study the thermal and mechanical properties of polymers” is intended Senior Researcher, Doctor of Science EP Mamunya.
Research station production TA Instruments (USA) is designed to study thermal and mechanical characteristics of polymeric and composite materials. Station includes 5 separate modules: – Module DSC (differential scanning calorimetry) – DSC Q2000;
– Module TMA (thermomechanical analysis) – TMA Q400EM;
– Module DMA (dynamic mechanical analysis) – DMA Q800;
– Module TGA (thermogravimetric analysis) – TGA Q50;
– Module rheometer (rheological analysis) – AR 2000ex.
Each module is equipped with a separate work space, computer and printer to each module summed needed electricity and gas.
Differential scanning calorimeter designed to measure the heat flux is temperature structural transitions in polymers and composite materials, such as glass transition and melting. The device accurately measures the melting point, the glass transition temperature range, calculates the amount of heat of fusion, heat capacity measured value. – Operating temperature range from -180 ° C to 725 ° C;
– Operating temperature range with integrated cooling from -90 ° C to + 500 ° C;
– Temperature sensor accuracy: ± 0,01 ° C, loyalty temperature setting ± 0,1 ° C;
– The possibility of measuring the inert gases in the atmosphere;
– Sample weight of 5-20 mg.
Thermomechanical analyzer designed to measure changes in the size of samples under temperature, effort or time. This allows you to determine the coefficient of thermal expansion, glass transition temperature, melting temperature, Young’s modulus, creep settings, thermal stability of polymeric and composite materials.
The analyzer provides the following modes: linear change in temperature, permanent deformation mode controlled load creep mode, dynamic and modulated TMA. – Modes: thermal expansion, penetration, three point bending, stretching;
– Operating temperature range from -150 ° C to 1000 ° C;
– Accuracy of the temperature setting 1 ° C;
– Load range from 0.001 N to 2.0 N (resolution 03/10 H);
– The frequency range from 0.01 Hz to 2.0 Hz;
– Accuracy linear size of 15 nm.
Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer is designed to study for viscoelastic properties of polymeric and composite materials depending on temperature, frequency or load time. This allows you to determine the modulus of elasticity and loss of mechanical energy in the material in a wide range of loads and temperatures.
The analyzer provides the following modes: stretching, compression, bending by two or three points of fixation and without fixation sample shift penetrations, modes of application load: dynamic, oscillation, static modes controlled load controlled power, controlled deformation, creep, relaxation stresses. – Operating temperature range from -150 ° C to 600 ° C;
– Heating rate of 0.1 to 50 ° C / min;
– The range of modulus measurements from 1000 to 1000 Pa GPa;
– Measurement range of mechanical losses tgd: 0.0001 to 0.0001 with a sensitivity of 10;
– The frequency range from 0.01 Hz to 200 Hz in increments of 0.01 Hz;
– Range effort from 0.0001 to 18 N 0,0001N with distinction.
Thermogravimetric analyzer designed to measure the weight of the sample under high temperature to determine thermal stability and composition of the polymer or composite material. – Operating temperature range from room temperature to 1000 ° C;
– Speed linear heating to 100 ° C / min;
– Accuracy weighing sample 0.01% ((0.1 mg precision scales);
– Two weight ranges: 0 – 200 and 0 mg – 1 g that automatically switch;
– The possibility of measurements in the atmosphere of inert gases.
Rheometer is designed to study the properties of the polymer melt viscosity depending on the shear stress, strain rate and temperature.
Rheometer provides work in the following modes: continuous rotation mode oscillation mode creep, stress relaxation, mixed procedure. – Operating temperature range from room temperature to 600 ° C;
– 0.0001 range torque – 200 mN * m;
– Resolution 0.04 mkrad the shift;
– Angular velocity of 8.10 to 300 rad / s at a controlled speed from 0 to 300 rad / s;
– Frequency range mode oscillation of 7.5 * 10-7 to 628 rad / s.
